A reminder that I will be running the 'Lotus Connections and Beyond' Birds of a Feather (BoF) session at Lotusphere 2009, next Monday at 6:15pm-7:15pm.

As Neil has already posted, this is effectively the 7th in our Connectr series of Special Interest Group events centered around Lotus Connections and its use in real-world environments.  

In this session, we will aim to take the best of what has worked successfully so far and integrate it with the excellent BoF format, and come up with a really excellent hour's disscussion.  As Neil can't make it to Lotusphere this year, I have invited two excellent guests to join us in the session... Luis Benitez (IBM, Consulting Social Software Specialist from Puerto Rico) and Luis Suarez (IBM, Knowledge Manager, Community Builder and Social Software Evangelist from Spain).  The three of us will take 5 minutes or so each to talk through some of the real-world experiences that we've had implementing Lotus Connections and similar social software solutions, the value that organisations and individuals have gained from them, and some of the directions in which Connections might go in the future.

At that point we'll open the floor for discussion, and hopefully as a group can come up with some really good experiences of how Connections is being used in innovative and effective ways today, and then focus on what direction the product might take in the future.  We'll be taking notes and will be passing these through to the product team - no commitments of course, but I am sure they will be interested in the feedback...

In addition, there is now a BlueHouse group devoted to this BoF - so if you have any ideas or questions you'd like to submit in advance, or perhaps you can't make it to the session (maybe you're not at Lotusphere or have another session that conflicts - boo hiss!) then that may be a great way for you to get involved in the conversation.
